This past Saturday The Adventure Science Center hosted their annual Caper fund-raising event. Since The Adventure Science Center is celebrating its 65th birthday this year, they opted to step back in time and celebrate the decade the Center was born – the 1940s! Everyone showed up for this grandiose affair. Just to name a few – Joan Crawford, Humprey Bogart , classic cast of characters from Batman (comic came out in May 1939 – close enough!), Rosie the Riveter, General Douglas MacArthur, and the list goes on. The big band played all night and the swing dancers never stopped dancing! Not only was the food amazing but they even served period drinks like vodka and gin gimlets and martinis. The silent auction was a huge hit with items ranging from romantic date nights including a limo to 3 night stays in Aruba. Finally the night was capped with the awards for best costumes being given out and the winner of the coveted Caper Cup being awarded for best costume of the night to “the lady in the big white hat and her beau”.
Congratulations to Jennifer Jackson and her staff at The Adventure Science Center for pulling off an amazing event. Cant wait until next year!

Lastly, the lady and I all dressed in our period garb. Hillary is straight 1940s! Way to rock it babe!
Steve and Jessica are an amazing couple! They decided to get married in Jessica’s home state of New Jersey. The festivities started off with the men rousing Steve at his bachelor party – while the girls presumably did the same for Jessica. Jessica got ready at her parents house – her childhood home. Then we headed over to Kirkpatrick Chapel. Ever since she was a little girl, Jessica had always wanted to get married in this church and today was the day! After the ceremony Jessica insisted that we get a picture with the infamous cannon from her alma mater – Rutgers. Then the evening wrapped up at the beautiful Rutgers Gardens.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this momentousness occasion.

Kayce and JR wed in the beautiful Japanese garden at Cheekwood. Although rain loomed overhead the entire day, luckily it held off until right after the ceremony which allowed for some killer shots outside. The big day wrapped up with an amazing reception filled with emotion, line dancing, and an assortment of cakes! Congratulations you two!
The personal flowers were created by Brocade Design Arts.

this engagement session was epic! amanda and ben picked out some sweet spots that had some sentimental meaning behind them which always comes out in the photos. it was a busy day running around middle tennessee and as a treat to me and my lady, amanda and ben finished up the session by making some homemade rolled lasagna – one of ben’s old family recipes. thank you again you two and I cant wait for the big day! **warning** – lots of kissing ahead!

Christie and Clay were wed at the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, TN. Rain was predicted for the day but luckily it held off and we had beautiful blue skies. After the ceremony, everyone headed to the Walnut House in downtown Murfreesboro for the reception. Their friends and family came together to help them have the wedding of their dreams. Clay’s family handled the catering while one of their friends deejayed the event. It was an amazing event and I wish you both the best!

You might remember Brandy and TH’s engagement session from back in April — well they are offically married! Check out some of the pictures from the day. Thankfully the storms waited until after the reception. Brandy, you easily pulled off that classic amazing bride look effortlessly.

Kelly and Jim were great to work with. Kelly came up with an awesome theme for the engagement shoot – post WWII vintagey photos. Not only did their creative choices of wardrobe help to make the shoot, but Jim and Kelly radiate a very classic look.
I can wait for your wedding in November!
We met at Pinkerton Park last Wednesday in Franklin. Our last appointment was rained out so we opted for this time instead boy are we glad we did! The weather was absolutely amazing. JR and Kayce were a blast to work with. Not only were they fun loving and smiled alot, they were a joy to photograph. We hiked through the park then ended up on the swing set. Here are a couple of pictures from the day.
This was an amazing engagement session with a bunch of firsts. For instance, this is the first engagement session I've seen the ground pulsing — groundhog burrowing, a bunny run across the bride-to-be's foot, and finding a large black snake in some tall grass. Even with all the run ins with mother nature's creatures, the pictures truly reflect Brandy and TH's love for each other. I can't wait for the May 16th wedding!
My mother has really been going all out lately– especially in terms of her kicking it up a notch with her culinary skill. This past Sunday she put together an amazing meal, not to mention enough food for an army! Some of the honorable mentions were the chicken — extremely moist and spectacular flavors, the corn casserole — always a favorite, and lastly the home made strawberry shortcakes with a dollop of freshly whipped cream — sorry no pictures of that one.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter with their friends and family. Until next year…
